🧤 Shock Exit: Why Did Alisson Suddenly Leave Liverpool’s Pre-Season Tour?

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has officially withdrawn from the club’s Asia pre-season tour and will not feature in the upcoming friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.

The unexpected news was first reported by James Pearce of The Athletic and later confirmed by several other reputable sources, surprising many Liverpool fans. Alisson was absent from the team’s open training session on July 28 and has been granted permission by the club to leave temporarily due to personal reasons. Specific details have not been disclosed by either the club or the player.

Alisson becomes the third player to leave Arne Slot’s squad during this summer tour, following Joe Gomez, who suffered an Achilles injury, and Luis Díaz, who recently completed a £65 million move to Bayern Munich.

🧱 Mamardashvili Likely to Start

With Alisson unavailable, new signing Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to start in goal for Liverpool’s final match in Japan. Manager Arne Slot may also take the opportunity to rotate and test other goalkeeping options, such as Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi, and Kornel Misciur, in preparation for the new season.

🔜 Alisson Expected to Rejoin Squad in England

Alisson is scheduled to return to training at the AXA Training Centre once Liverpool are back in England, ahead of a double-header friendly against Athletic Club on August 4 at Anfield. The fixture will be split into two separate matches (at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM local time), giving manager Slot the chance to assess his full squad before the Community Shield clash with Crystal Palace.

🔁 A Summer of Big Changes at Liverpool

This summer has brought major transitions for the Merseyside club. After convincing wins against Preston and Stoke City, Liverpool suffered a surprising 2-4 defeat to AC Milan in their opening match in Hong Kong. However, the performances of several new signings — including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Mamardashvili, and Hugo Ekitike — have provided renewed optimism among supporters. These five signings collectively cost the club £204 million.

🚨 Transfer Watch: Isak to Anfield?

Liverpool are also strongly linked with a move for Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. The Swedish striker’s absence from Newcastle’s Asia tour has sparked speculation that a transfer to Anfield may be imminent. Should the deal materialize, Isak would become one of the standout signings of the summer — and significantly bolster what could become one of the most dangerous attacking lineups in Europe.
