Liverpool Agree to Sell Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich — But with One Key Condition

Luis Díaz’s future at Liverpool has taken center stage this summer as transfer speculation intensifies. With Bayern Munich now joining Barcelona in the race to sign the Colombian forward, Liverpool’s stance is beginning to shift — but only under one major condition.

Speaking to a Colombian influencer, Díaz acknowledged the ongoing uncertainty: “We’re in the middle of negotiations. Let’s see what happens — for me and for the club. We’re all trying to make the best possible decision,” he said, adding that he remains “calm” and “happy” with life at Anfield.

Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona have reportedly submitted initial offers for Díaz, but Liverpool rejected them swiftly. Despite the rebuff, neither European giant has given up. Bayern, in particular, are accelerating their interest following Jamal Musiala’s recent injury during the FIFA Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Barcelona continue to consider Díaz a top summer priority.

Liverpool’s official position remains firm: the club has no intention to sell Díaz this summer. However, sources close to the Merseyside side reveal that the board may consider a “truly irresistible offer” — believed to be in the region of £85 million or more. With two years left on his contract, which runs until June 2027, Díaz is still considered a key figure in Arne Slot’s project.

The 28-year-old had a strong campaign in 2024/25, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists, proving his value across both wings and even in a central role when needed.

However, Díaz recently came under fire from a section of Liverpool fans. Images of the Colombian partying at a music event in his homeland circulated online just as many of his teammates were mourning at the funeral of Diogo Jota and his brother in Portugal. Critics accused Díaz of being “insensitive” during what was an emotionally charged moment for the club.

Though Díaz later posted a heartfelt tribute to Jota — calling him “a true friend who helped me a lot when I first arrived in Liverpool” — he avoided addressing the viral video directly.

For now, the Colombian is preparing to return for Liverpool’s pre-season training. Whether he stays beyond the summer, however, may depend on how serious Bayern Munich or Barcelona are willing to get — and whether they’re prepared to meet Liverpool’s one unmovable condition: a blockbuster offer too good to refuse.
