Netflix has just unveiled the official trailer for its most bizarre and mind-melting horror release yet — Italian Brainrot: The Movie, set to premiere globally in October 2025. What begins as a comedy of culinary oddities quickly spirals into a full-blown psychedelic nightmare where food fights back… literally.

Directed by acclaimed surrealist filmmaker Giorgio Malvolti, the film blends grotesque horror, absurd satire, and fever-dream visuals in a uniquely Italian descent into madness. The trailer opens with a smiling 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 holding an ice cream cone — only for a giant anthropomorphic breadstick mascot to loom ominously behind him, clutching a wooden bat. From there, the images get increasingly unhinged: monstrous utensils with human faces, a ballerina with a porcelain teacup head, and a terrifying sea creature devouring a shark in front of screaming spectators.
In one particularly striking sequence, a grotesquely muscular green creature — half-man, half-broccoli — roars in the middle of a crumbling Italian piazza as terrified citizens flee.
The tagline seen in the trailer: “If you see them… it’s already too late.” …quickly flashes into: “Brain Rot Begins.”
Starring a cast of rising European actors alongside surreal CGI abominations, Italian Brainrot tells the story of a small town infected by a parasitic food𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧e fungus that doesn’t just consume minds — it rewrites them. As characters’ realities crumble, so do the laws of physics, logic, and taste.
Netflix describes the film as “David Lynch meets Ratatouille by way of Junji Ito.” Social media reactions are already exploding with intrigue, confusion, and memes, with many calling it “a culinary descent into hell — and we’re hungry for more.”
Italian Brainrot: The Movie will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix starting October 25, 2025 — just in time for Halloween nightmares.
