Fabrizio Romano drops bombshell update: “Liverpool preparing to part ways with 10 players”

Premier League champions Liverpool may be celebrating a title-winning campaign, but behind the scenes, a major squad overhaul is underway. According to a shocking update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are preparing to say goodbye to as many as 10 players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In a post that sent shockwaves through the fanbase, Romano revealed: “Liverpool are planning a significant reshuffle this summer — up to 10 players could leave as the club looks to rebuild around a new tactical identity under Arne Slot. Expect major movement.”

Reports from the Daily Mail confirm that Liverpool’s list of departures could hit double digits as the club looks to offload players who are no longer part of the long-term plan.

Among the high-profile names, Trent Alexander-Arnold is strongly linked with Real Madrid, while Darwin Núñez is close to joining Atletico Madrid. Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is also expected to depart in search of regular football.

Defenders Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah have also attracted interest, with the latter being monitored by several Premier League clubs. Harvey Elliott is believed to be open to a new challenge, while Kostas Tsimikas will likely exit if Liverpool complete the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

Up front, Luis Díaz has been targeted by Barcelona, while Cody Gakpo has emerged on Bayern Munich’s radar — though their departures are not yet confirmed.

Several promising youngsters, including Tyler Morton, Owen Beck, Lewis Koumas, Jayden Danns, and Ben Doak, could leave on loan or permanent deals. The future of Trey Nyoni and Stefan Bajcetic, who are returning from loans, remains uncertain as the club evaluates whether they can break into the first team.

Despite lifting the Premier League trophy, manager Arne Slot is wasting no time in reshaping his squad. With a large transfer budget and big ambitions — including a blockbuster move for Florian Wirtz — Liverpool must clear room in the squad and wage bill.

Romano added: “Slot wants a team that reflects his playing philosophy. The club is ready to make bold decisions — even if it means parting ways with players who have come through the academy or have been at the club for years.”

As the summer window approaches, Liverpool’s transfer activity is set to dominate headlines — and fans can expect a whirlwind of exits and arrivals in what could be one of the busiest off-seasons in recent club history.
