World No.1 golfer Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 keeps getting better after it was confirmed he was set to earn an $18 million payday without even needing to play a single shot.

The 29-year-old is currently at the top of his game, having recently won The Open Championship to take his major tally to four. He also emerged victorious from Quail Hollow earlier this year to win the PGA Championship, meaning he is now just a US Open win away from claiming golf’s career Grand Slam.

Scheffler was also recently told by legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady that he can be a good father and the best golf player in the world at the same time, following comments the golfer made recently about staying motivated.

This year has seen Scheffler make more than $19M, a figure which will continue to grow heading into the final months of 2025.

And come next week, he will have earned $18M more ahead of the FedEx Cup Playoffs opening event in Memphis.

The world no.1 golfer secured $10M thanks to a FedEx Cup regular season bonus for leading the standings after 16 events. He is also set to make $8M in prize money thanks to the season-ending Comcast Business Tour Top-10 bonus.

The Comcast pool has ballooned to a $40M prize pool, with the first-place finisher set to make $8M, something Scheffler clinched prior to the Wyndham Championship.

Scheffler’s 2025 earnings could skyrocket thanks to the three FedEx Cup Playoff events. The winner of the St. Jude Championship will pocket $3.6M, while the winner of the BMW Championship is set to make the same prize money.

The Tour Championship will see the winner earn $10M in prize money, while the FedEx Cup leader through the BMW Championship will also earn an extra $5 million bonus, meaning there is still potentially $22.2M up for grabs for Scheffler.

Having sparked controversy with his recent remarks by claiming the thrill of capturing a major “only lasts a few minutes”, Scheffler has also recently admitted he wished he hadn’t made those statements.

Appearing on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler said: “I remember walking out of that room and I’m looking at Blake, my manager, I’ve known since I was like 10 years old, and I’m like, ‘Gosh, why did I start ranting like that.’

“This is why I don’t say anything, things get taken out of context. I’m just like, ‘I don’t know why I did that, I hope that made a little bit of sense to some people.’ He was like, ‘Nah it’s alright, let’s go.'”
