The queen rises again—this time with power, vengeance, and legend.
20th Century Studios and Ridley Scott unveil the first official trailer for Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile (2026), an epic historical drama starring Angelina Jolie as the legendary ruler of Egypt in a bold, reimagined portrayal that promises political intrigue, war, and seduction on a grand scale.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Sicario), the film offers a sweeping cinematic vision of ancient Alexandria, shot entirely on location in Morocco and Malta. Tom Cruise joins the cast as Julius Caesar, the Roman general whose fate intertwines with Cleopatra’s in a battle not only for empires—but for legacy.
The trailer begins with a close-up of Jolie’s Cleopatra walking barefoot through marble halls as whispers of betrayal echo around her. Thunderous drums rise as armies clash on desert sands, Roman legions storm the palace walls, and Cleopatra appears both as a revered goddess and a political mastermind.
Jolie delivers the film’s standout line in the trailer: “They feared my beauty. They will now fear my power.”
Also starring Oscar Isaac as Mark Antony and Lashana Lynch as Arsinoë, Cleopatra’s estranged sister, the film promises sweeping romance and palace betrayal, as Egypt teeters on the edge of collapse and re𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡.
Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile is set to be released in theaters and IMAX worldwide on December 18, 2026, with Oscar buzz already building for Jolie’s return to the big screen.
