Underworld: Blood Requiem (2025) – Official Trailer Unleashes Kate Beckinsale’s Dark Return as Selene

London, May 2025 — The Queen of the night has returned. Sony Pictures has just released the official trailer for Underworld: Blood Requiem (2025), marking the explosive comeback of Kate Beckinsale as the legendary Death Dealer Selene. After a seven-year absence from the franchise, Beckinsale’s return sends a clear message: the war between Vampires and Lycans is far from over—and blood will flow again.

The trailer plunges viewers into a dark, war-torn future where the Vampire covens have nearly vanished and Lycans rule the shadows. A haunting voiceover from Selene echoes: “I was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in blood. Raised in war. And now, I return for vengeance.”

Set 25 years after the events of Underworld: Blood Wars (2016), the film explores a new uprising led by a rogue hybrid force that threatens to eliminate both Vampire and Lycan bloodlines. The only hope lies in Selene, long thought to be dead, who resurfaces from exile with a new level of power—and fury.

Key highlights from the trailer:

  • Selene rising from an ancient crypt, donning her iconic black leather suit and twin pistols.

  • Brutal close-combat sequences in snow-covered ruins, where she faces a new Lycan general named Vaelen, portrayed by Alexander Skarsgård.

  • Mysterious flashbacks revealing the fate of her daughter Eve, and a secret bloodline that could reshape the balance of power.

  • A stunning underwater Vampire fortress, hinting at ancient alliances that Selene must awaken.

Directed by Corin Hardy (The Nun), the film promises to return to the franchise’s gothic horror roots while introducing darker themes of betrayal, sacrifice, and blood-soaked legacy. Composer Marco Beltrami returns with an intense score blending industrial rock with orchestral dread.

Kate Beckinsale said in a recent interview: “Selene is more dangerous than ever. She’s not just fighting to survive—she’s fighting to finish what she started.”

Underworld: Blood Requiem is set to release in theaters worldwide on November 7, 2025, just in time to chill audiences during the fall season.
